Haiti Mission Trip 2012

This video is a summation of the mission trip experienced by several members of the Mt. Zion team who visited the country of Haiti in the month of January 2012 (1st - 7th). Mission trip members are Stephanie Baker, George Brown, Rufus Credle, and Nicole Sawyer. The mission trip was managed by Northwest Haiti Christian Mission. Members of this team were truly touched by the spirit of the Haitian people and their love for Christ amongst a way of life that is perceived and considered poor when measured by other countries.

As a team, we were informed to be cautious about accepting simplistic explanations about Haiti, and we should be slow to criticize. Northwest Haiti Christian Mission believes that understanding the country, its people and its communities is an essential part of demonstrating Christ's love in Haiti. Reliable statistics about Haiti are hard to come by. Relatively little data is kept by the Haitian government, and false assumptions and misinformation run rampant even among frequent visitors to Haiti.

Oratorical Contest Coming Soon

Volunteers Needed for Video Presentations

Volunteers are needed for on-air talent to present Little Known Black History Facts videos during the month of February. No experience is necessary - just lots of personality and enthusiasm! All age groups needed. If interested, see Regina Sands.

Bake Sale - 1/ 29

Please join Three Sisters Sweets for their first quarterly bake sale on Sunday, January 29th. Cookies and cupcakes will be available for purchase in the front hallway immediately following service. All proceeds will go back to Mt. Zion to be disctributed as needed.

Blood Drive - 2/4

Tutoring Available

Tutoring for Mt. Zion youth is now available and it's FREE! Parents, all you have to do is bring your child out to the church on Monday nights from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. No more excuses for poor grades. Youth Ministry Seminar - 1/28

The Youth Ministry Team invites and encourages ALL parents at Mt. Zion to attend the "Upgrading Your Parental Software" seminar/luncheon on Saturday, January 28th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. This event will be a presentation on the modern application of biblical parenting skills, as well as an in-depth look at the contemporary issues and obstacles that we face in parenting a child today.
